I'm building my grandson a Thomas layout. It will be built in 3' x 4' modules for easy moving. The first 2 modules feature 2 ovals on 2" risers at one end, as both travel to the other end they go through a grade change. 1 going down 4% and a total of 2" the other up 4% and 2". This will give us a tunnel for interest and grades where we can use helpers. Although one quick test has proven that even Percy can manage 4 wagons even from a dead stop half way up. It will have 2 maybe 3 internal spur line, 1 for a passenger station and 1 will be a logging road including a short "Shake Shake Bridge". It will also feature 1 external spur that will eventually lead to a third module where the round house/turntable will live. Until that time that spur can be used for some Misty Island excitement with Diesel being rescued from the brink by Thomas. I have purchased a Digitrax DCC and once the track is laid will start installing sound decoders into the Locos. We are also converting everything to KD couplers. So far the bench work is finished, the foam and the roadbed is laid. The track laying has to be finished then wiring. As soon as it looks interesting I will post photos. Thanks for reading
